Warhawks Thrash Patriots, Improve to 11-2
Muscle Shoals, AL – Calhoun volleyball delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday night, sweeping Northwest Shoals on the road in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-4, and 25-11.
The Warhawks controlled the match from start to finish, showcasing balance on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Ashtyn Douglas anchored the back row with 17 digs, while Maddie Schwabe kept the offense moving with 25 assists. At the net, Laney Kelley was nearly unstoppable, finishing with nine kills on a blistering .600 hitting efficiency.
"I'm really proud of the performance tonight," said Head Coach Jaimee Freeman. "This is exactly what we need to keep building momentum for next week. The key now is to keep working hard like we have in practice and bring the same intensity no matter who we're facing."
With the win, Calhoun improves to 11-2 on the season. The Warhawks return home on Wednesday, September 24, at 5 p.m. to host #RV Wallace State.
