A two-time conference coach of the year, Jamiee Freeman concludes her fourth season as head volleyball coach at Calhoun, having been named the college’s first-ever head coach when the program launched in May 2022. Since taking the helm, she has built the Warhawks into the most dominant program in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), establishing a standard of player development, competitive excellence, and postseason success.

In 2025, Freeman led Calhoun to its most historic season to date, finishing with a program-best 32–5 overall record and an unprecedented 17–1 mark in ACCC play. The Warhawks captured the program’s first-ever ACCC Volleyball Championship and NJCAA Region 22 Championship, marking the college’s first conference title in any sport in over 25 years. Calhoun also secured the NJCAA Gulf South District Championship and earned its first berth in the NJCAA National Tournament, where the Warhawks defeated Monroe College (NY) 3–2, the school’s first national tournament win since 2000. Freeman was named 2025 ACCC North Coach of the Year for the second time in her four-year career and earned NJCAA Region 22 Coach of the Year honors.

In 2024, Freeman guided Calhoun to a second-place conference finish with a 10-2 league record and a 25-13 overall mark, earning another trip to the ACCC Tournament. The year prior, she was named ACCC Coach of the Year after leading the Warhawks to a 31-11 record and an appearance in the ACCC Semifinals. Under her leadership, several players have moved on to four-year programs, including Jessica Cornelius (Bryan College), Allyse Rudolph, and Jakaya Smith (Faulkner University).

Before her arrival at Calhoun, Freeman served as the head varsity volleyball coach at Decatur High School. Her earlier coaching experience includes impactful stints at Arab High School, where she led the varsity team to a 31-15 record and a Good Hope Tournament title in her first season, followed by a 3-0 area record and hosting rights for the Area Tournament in her second. She also coached at James Clemens High School and served as an assistant at Wallace State, where she contributed to back-to-back conference championships in 2014 and 2015, including a 35-10, undefeated conference season in 2014.

Freeman also has extensive club coaching experience, having worked with Tsunami Volleyball Club and Alabama Elite, where she played a key role in athlete development and team success.

A 2008 graduate of Sparkman High School, Freeman earned All-County, All-Area, and All-Metro Honorable Mention honors while leading the team in kills and digs. She went on to compete at Georgia State University, where she started all four years and tallied 803 kills, 124 service aces, 1,372 digs, and 139 blocks. She still ranks in the top 10 all-time at GSU in digs and attack attempts and earned multiple honors including Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, All-Rookie Team (2009), and multiple All-Tournament selections.

Freeman resides in Athens, Alabama with her two children, Brayden and Dallas.
