#24 Volleyball Suffers Setback at Gadsden State
Gadsden, AL – The 24th-ranked Warhawks saw their nine-match winning streak snapped on the road Wednesday night, falling 3-1 to Gadsden State. The Cardinals held off the Warhawks by set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, and 25-22.
Calhoun battled throughout the night, highlighted by strong performances across the board. Amber Holshouser handed out 18 assists, while Maddie Schwabe led with 22. Defensively, Lucy Means anchored the back row with 15 digs, and Ava Boyl powered the offense with 12 kills.
"We can't get caught up in past results," said Head Coach Jaimee Freeman. "Every match has to be approached with a 1-0 mindset and the drive to earn it all over again."
The #24 Warhawks (9-2) will look to bounce back at home on Tuesday, September 16, when they host Bevill State at 5:30 p.m.
