Dalton Counter

Bio

Dalton Counter enters his third season as head coach of Calhoun Esports, continuing to lead one of the fastest-rising programs in the NJCAA.

In Spring 2025, his Overwatch team captured national attention by finishing 3rd in NJCAAE competition, marking the highest placement in program history. Counter’s leadership has quickly established Calhoun as a force in the collegiate Esports landscape, with multiple teams competing across titles and consistently improving under his direction.

Since taking over the program in 2023, Counter has transformed Calhoun Esports from a startup into a nationally recognized competitor. His focus on culture, accountability, and competitive structure has attracted high-level talent while maintaining an environment where student-athletes can succeed both in game and in the classroom. He has helped build infrastructure, implement training schedules, and raise the standard for what Esports can be at the two-year level.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Counter is a 2023 graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a degree in business management. A lifelong gamer with a strategic mindset, he began coaching and organizing teams while still a student, using his passion for the scene to gain early coaching experience. His blend of leadership, technical knowledge, and player-first approach has made him a respected figure among peers and players alike.
