Bio

Daniel Harrod enters his second season as head coach of the Calhoun cheer program, coming off a historic performance that saw the Warhawks earn a 2nd place finish at the 2025 NCA College Nationals. In just one year under Harrod’s direction, Calhoun Cheer has emerged as a serious contender on the national stage, gaining recognition for its athleticism, execution, and competitive spirit.

In addition to his role at Calhoun, Harrod is the longtime owner and director of ACE Cheer Company in Huntsville, Alabama, which is one of the most successful and respected programs in the Southeast. Over the past 13 years, ACE Huntsville has helped more than 150 athletes earn college cheerleading opportunities and trained teams that have captured over 15 high school national championships. His leadership has established ACE as a powerhouse in both all-star and school-based cheer, with a strong reputation for excellence in coaching, skill development, and athlete mentorship.

Harrod has been active in the cheerleading industry for more than 25 years, working across competitive, collegiate, and training spaces. His coaching philosophy centers on discipline, detail, and building athletes who are confident leaders in and out of uniform. His experience spans game day and performance cheer, and he continues to serve as a resource and mentor for coaches and athletes throughout the region.

A former collegiate cheerleader at the University of Alabama, Harrod is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and now resides in Madison, Alabama with his wife, Stephanie Ammirati.
