Women's Golf Battles at Snead Invitational
Union Grove, AL – The Calhoun women's golf team hit the course at Cherokee Ridge Country Club on October 13–14, competing in the Snead State Invitational and finishing 11th out of 18 teams in a strong tournament field featuring programs from Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama, across both Division I and II levels.
Sadie Graham led the way for the Warhawks, carding a +40 total over two rounds, highlighted by a birdie on her opening hole Monday morning and steady play throughout the tournament. Hannah Hall followed with a +45, while Emma Thomas (+47) and Anna Lowry (+48) rounded out the team scoring. Kenley Staats served as the fifth player for Calhoun.
The team battled through nagging injuries that impacted performance, but still found encouraging moments over the two-day event.
Head Coach Richard Morgan acknowledged the challenges but praised the team's perseverance: "It was a tough couple of days for us, but I saw some glimpses of success throughout the tournament," Morgan said. "I know the girls are pushing through a lot right now, and their hard work will continue to show as we progress through the season."
The Warhawks return to action November 10–11 at the Coastal Invitational at Juniper Creek Golf Course in Bruton, AL.
